5.0 out of five stars Appears to be real SanDisk retail package, December 16, 2010
By Robert Schwartz (Los Osos, CA USA) See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) () This review is from: SanDisk 32GB MicroSDHC Card (SDSDQ 032G A11M, US Retail Package) (Electronics) depending on some other reviews here I wanted to avoid BlueProton and tried to buy through seller “Everything But Stromboli” but at the time it wasn’t available through that store. I saw in the merchant feedback section that BlueProton had received many good reviews in recent days for this item so I went ahead and ordered through BlueProton/Fulfilled by Amazon.

I received it fast, earlier than estimated, and it appeared to be a real unopened SanDisk branded cardboard/blister pack display item with the small plastic reuseable snap container (jewel case) holding the card, and “SanDisk” is obviously printed on the card itself. As portrayed, this pkg contained only the card no USB adapter, lanyard, etc., which I did not want nevertheless but when I ordered last week many of those extras were available free via BlueProton special offers if you wanted them.

Just a bit more information on the package contents, since there looks to be many variability based on the seller and what they happen to be shipping at the time: The included “eMusic insert” mentioned in the Product Description was a $10 “eMusic Card.” though not mentioned in the description, my package also happened to include another put with a password to access a download of SanDisk’s Media Manager software for PCs, for managing music and photo transfers between your phone and PC.

The card itself has been preformatted FAT32 and totally blank out of the package. I installed it today in my Droid Milestone, and it could not have been easier:

1. Copy contents of original eight GB card to my PC (Windows XP Pro)
2. Copy contents from PC to new 32 GB card using USB adapter
3. Power off phone
4. Remove original eight GB card from phone
5. Install new 32 GB card in phone
6. Power on phone

Everything on the phone is working just as before except now I have 32 GB instead of eight well, theoretically 29.7 31.9 GB based on how you read XP’s disk properties information, and the phone itself detects a capacity of 29.71 GB. (I believe the FAT32 file system requires many space which is why available capacity does not read exactly 32 GB.) now I have only loaded less than three GB on the card but so far so good.

5.0 out of five stars SanDisk updates Class on SDSDQ 032G A11M, January 11, 2011
By BlueProton See all my reviews This review is from: SanDisk 32GB MicroSDHC Card (SDSDQ 032G A11M, US Retail Package) (Electronics) As of December 2010, SanDisk updated the Class on SDSDQ 032G A11M from Class two to Class 4.

However, SanDisk is removing any talk about of “Class” on non ULTRA non EXTREME card retail packaging to have the flexibility to package whichever class card the SanDisk factory sees fit. Unfortunately, SanDisk doesn’t believe the average buyer cares about what Class designation is on the memory card, though many buyers do care.

Unfortunately, since SanDisk uses the same P/N and UPC code, there’s no way to tell if Class two or Class four will ship inside the package. This is compounded by not all vendors and fulfillment centers use FIFO stock shipping standards and old stock can persist for a long time.

Customers seeking more info about this change may contact SanDisk buyer service at 1 866 SANDISK.

1.0 out of five stars Warning. BoBoTechnic doesn’t sent the card in the US Retail Package., September 29, 2010
By Shawn Dickens (Melbourne, Florida) See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) () This review is from: SanDisk 32GB MicroSDHC Card (SDSDQ 032G A11M, US Retail Package) (Electronics) The listing says “US Retail Package.” The one I got was from BoBoTechnic. It did not come in the package. It just came in the case with the card and adapter in it. I ordered this thing over night because I needed it and of course it comed in the US retail packaging. I left for a trip the next day, and I had no choice but to attempt it. They sent a answer that it came from a SanDisk distributor, which doen’t influence the fact that it did not come in the package as listed. It showed up and worked. I got all 16Gb of my music on it, but after having it going for about 4.5 days. It crapped out.

Warning.. This won’t come in a package if it’s from BoBoTechnic. Can not say for other venders. I ordered the same thing on ebay from China for $20. At least if that dies I am only out $20. I would not purchase this because it does not come in the package so it is most likely a bad card that failed QC or it is just and cheap copy that you may get for $20 on ebay. Once my $20 copy dies. I will be ordering it from SanDisk directly if I need be to get one in the US Retail Package.

Will use the same listing and let some number of sellers use it, so everyone should generally post the seller in their review. I sent them a message about this, but they did nothing so we the customers have to do it now.

UPDATE 9 10 I own four of these cards now. I have more of these than any other card I own because they’re a good value for capacity/price/and speed. My initial disappointment over the lack of super quick is outweighed by the reality that this card is an exceptional value.

If you own a compact digital camera, or SD/HD video camera, this card will surpass the potential of all of them. For compact cameras the card is not typically the slowest part of the data write procedure, it is the camera.
This card unloads quickly with a 20MB/s read speed. You’ll need a SDHC card reader if you do not have one. A regular SD card reader won’t read a HC (high capacity) card.

These cards make great gifts. I have given some number of of the eight Gig cards as gifts and received appreciation and great comments from all the recipients.

UPDATED REVIEW:
I bought this card making the assumption that all class ten cards had the same read and write speed. This was a poor assumption on my part. In order for a card to meet the criteria for class ten speed the card needs to be certified to have 10MB/s write and read speed. Many manufacturers classify their cards at a slower speed though they meet the criteria for a higher class. SanDisk make many cards that could meet the criteria for class ten and rates them as class 6.

The product photo on doesn’t have the card’s speed printed on it. The card that has been shipped shows the front of the card printed with “20MB/s” which is the cards read speed. The cards write speed is 16MB/s.

I own a SanDisk Extreme III class ten card that has (up to) 30MB/s read and write speed. My Nikon D 90 that can take benefit of the SanDisk cards speed. The difference is the SanDisk card can catch 100 photos at good resolution in 24 seconds. The Transcend card captures 66 photos in the same time/resolution.

I reality not many people will ever have the have to drill off 100 photos in 24 seconds, but I can not stand to lose a good shot because the camera is slow while writing to the card and I can not fire the shutter. You may be able to hear this happen at about 4.5 seconds in the video review. This doesn’t happen with the SanDisk class ten 30MB/s card.

If you own an SLR that’s able of fast fire, high resolution photography you may want to think about the SanDisk Extreme III 30 MB/s card. It’s costly.

This card is reasonably priced for a class ten card. Just know what you’re to get, what your needs can be, and what else is available. I own other Transcend cards and they have generally worked properly without any issues.

The video that I attached shows this card with the same 24 seconds that I gave the SanDisk Card.

5.0 out of five stars Fast!, April 8, 2010
By James P. Stone (Katy, TX, US) See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) () This review is from: Transcend 16GB Class ten SDHC Card (TS16GSDHC10) (Electronics) I bought this for use with my new Canon T2i. I use it mainly for shooting full resolution 1080p video, though I shoot stills also.

The camera choked on the class four chip that I first bought, but with this one, it’s amazing. I can shoot rapidfire 18 megapixel stills (I’ve tested it up to 30+ shots in a row), and there’s no lag. I have never had an error when shooting hi def video.

Highly recommended! I am purchasing another one.

5.0 out of five stars Fast, fast, fast!, March 15, 2010
By Mike From Mesa “MikeFromMesa” (Mesa, AZ) See all my reviews () This review is from: Transcend 16GB Class ten SDHC Card (TS16GSDHC10) (Electronics) I bought this card for my Canon T1i. The card I had been using before ordering this one was a Kingston Class six micro sd card and it worked well enough for the kind of shooting I did. Class six was the card speed that Canon suggested when I bought my T1i (Class ten cards weren’t still available) and it seemed fast enough for the way I used my camera lonely single photos taken at Medium (8 MP) or big (15 MP) jpg settings and 1280 x 720 video. And while I ocassionally took uninterrupted photos, I had never much exceeded 5 10 photos in a row and had never run into a problem with my Class six card.

When I 1st saw the Class ten cards I did many experiments with my camera. How many uninterrupted big photos could I take before the camera slowed down? It turned out to be about 30. And how many RAW photos could I take before the camera slowed down? It turned out to be about 9. SInce I didn’t usually take any photos in RAW and never needed more than about ten uninterrupted photos at big, the Class six card seemed more than enough for my needs. But I wondered about the speed of the Class ten cards enough that I bought one.

It turns out that the Class ten card is sufficiently fast that there doesn’t seem to be a reasonable upper bound on single big photos. I have taken 60 on uninterrupted without an issue. And though I still can not take more than nine RAW photos on uninterrupted with the Class ten card, when I’m finished taking those photos the camera not displays a Wait writing pictures screen. The RAW photos get written from the fitted memory to the card so quickly that the camera doesn’t have to display the Wait screen.

So this card is fast! Given the way I take photos this buy was needless, but still I’m happy I bought it. I know I’ll not run into a situation where speed is an issue with this card.
