5.0 out of five stars Kingston quality, big storage, what is not to love?, December 2, 2008
By Nathan Beauchamp “Dakotad555″ (Oak Park, IL USA) See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE) (TOP 50 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME) This review is from: Kingston 32 GB Class four SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/32GB (Electronics) There are many things to think about before purchasing this specific card or any other 32gb SDHC card on the market:

1. This isn’t an ideal card for a digital SLR like a D80, D90, Rebel XT, etc. That’s because it’s a class four device. The class of a SDHC cards has to do with how fast they read and write files, not how much storage they have. For a digital SLR, you may want to buy a class six SDHC card most of the time. Class six cards will let you to take ‘bursts’ of photos and not be restricted by the card’s capacity to write them. Also class four cards are slower reading data, meaning they’ll take longer to upload files to your computer. Upload speed is convenient, particularly when loading big batches of files.

2. This card has far more storage than majority of people will need for their digital camera. Unless you like to keep all your photos on a SDHC card and never move them to your computer, or are a high volume photographer, there’s little need for more than about 8gb of storage space for most caeras. The possible exemption to this is if you have a professional SLR that shoots files in the 16 20mb range but if you do, you will probably want a class six card anyway. If all you intend to use this card for is a digital camera, save yourself many of money and purchase a PNY 8GB SDHC Card. If you are worried about running out of space on a vacation, purchase some of them. Otherwise you run the risk of having ‘all your eggs in one basket.’ If one card fails, you lose all your pictures instead of only a part of them.

This card is great for use in a video camcorder able of writing to an SDHC card. (Check with the manual 1st to insure that a class four card will be fast enough first). It’s also perfect as extra storage for an super movable computer or net book like the Asus EEE pc. Another great application could be as added storage to a personal media player or MP3 player equipped with a SDHC slot like the Cowon D2.

There are other good 32gb SDHC cards on the market, many at cheaper price points than the Kingston card. IMHO, brand matters little with something like a SDHC card, since they all are made pretty much the same way. None of the brands now offering them (Transcend, PNY, Kingston) have high fail rates with their other merchandise, so I believe they’re all pretty alike. What you choose to purchase will rely on if you trust a specific brand, or who has the lowest price. All of them will work equally well.

4.0 out of five stars Good for the money, but do not expect fast speeds., December 8, 2007
By M. Florido (Irvine, CA) See all my reviews () This review is from: Kingston four GB Class four SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/4GB (Electronics) Excellent for the price. I give it a 4/5 because it performs slower than projected from a C4 SDHC card. I have a Sandisk EIII 2GB. Though it does not have the class ratings because it is not SDHC, the Sandisk outperforms the Kingston in both read/write.

My test scenario: Using a Nikon D80 taking six shots continuously. The Kingston took considerably longer to write contents from the Nikon D80 buffer.

If you are looking for a quick card in a alike scenario, then look elsewhere. But, if you want a good card and no specific need for speed, then I recommend to get.

5.0 out of five stars Big, September 8, 2008
By Robert S. Ambrose “Rob” (USA) See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) This review is from: Kingston 32 GB Class four SDHC Flash Memory Card SD4/32GB (Electronics) PREFACE:

I bought this card for extra disk space on my Asus EeePC netbook. I needed as much space as possible to supplement the small SSD hard drive. I needed something with big capacity and comparatively fast file move time.

PROS:

It shares the biggest SD capacity on the market today with not many others (Panasonic, Sandisk, and PNY) and is a quality name that I have had a good history with in the past. Its file move time is alike to the SSD drive in my machine so it just acts as a second SSD for me at less than a quarter of the price!

CONS:

Its not the cheapest 32gb SD card(PNY) nor the fastest(Panasonic) but its good quality with a decent move rate.

CONCLUSION:

I’m happy with its performance and capacity. I could like to see the price come down a bit, but that is the price of to get electronics of this caliber.

That’s my input, take it or leave it :)

5.0 out of five stars A nice toy.. and i mean it!, February 24, 2010
By John Swenson “jswenson2339″ (massachusetts usa) See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) This review is from: Audio Technica AT PL60USB completely auto Belt Driven Turntable with USB Port (Electronics) Have been waiting and watching and after my 1st use, download to the computer, and mp3 file creation, I am happy enough to recommend this product.

For under a hundred bucks the quality looks great. The manual for setup of the system and software is well done with step by step pictures.

I have mine connected to both the computer and external speakers. I am able to listen to the music while recording thru the external speakers and listen to playback of the downloaded music thru head phones on the computer.

The software has lots of alternatives to play with. But the basic ” push the red button to record ” and file save as and file export, get the job done to make your albums digital.

4.0 out of five stars Good provisional or 1st machine, but possibly best to go up one model, June 11, 2010
By Samuel Chell (Kenosha,, WI United States) See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME) () This review is from: Audio Technica AT PL60USB completely auto Belt Driven Turntable with USB Port (Electronics) This has newly gone up in price, separately from the Gold Box Special that greeted me. In a way, I wish I’d seen the higher price, which could discouraged me from ordering so quickly. I remember when, in the ’70s, it cost more to replace a Shure V 15 Type II cartridge than to buy this turntable, which comes complete with cartridge, stylus, and four different connecting cables to cover just about all situations, those for customers without a receiver/amplifier. It was not long before, in the ’80s, the elliptical stylus itself went for over a hundred, sooner or later taken off the market by Shure caused by the shortage of its rare and costly constituent.

The point: for 60 to 90 bucks, you shouldn’t expect anything close to a real audiophile turntable even though the machine will include auto tone arm lift, two instruction manuals, four well made cables, cartridge and stylus. But the feature missing with this turntable, the one reason I wish I had not ordered it and had waited to buy the next model up, is a counterweight for attaining exact tone arm balance also as an anti skating control for decreasing pressure (and distortion) on the inside grooves of the vinyl LP, particularly the tracks closest to the center hole.

Nevertheless, given the lack of a counter weighted tone arm and anti skating control, this turntable does a greatly competent job of tracking most recordings. In fact, it performs better than both of the ailing industry standard, professional Stanton turntables that were showing increasingly problematic at the station. As well, the tracking pressure that I calculated is less than two and a half grams, light enough to prevent the stylus from eating up your vinyl (at least not till after 2 3 playings).

The unit comes with fitted preamp, so not only does it not require an amp with a phono jack, but it does not require any amp beyond the one in your computer if your main consideration is converting vinyl to digital. A couple of things to be aware of: the lift on the tone arm is too small to be of use for manual placement. You will have to be comfy with the auto lift system or forget about picking up and dropping down the tone arm with any semblance of accuracy. As well, in back is an all important lever that switches the unit from “phono” to “line” connection. If you are using the unit without an amp with phono jack (beginning in the ’90s, cost conscious manufacturers began left off of receivers and amps, though with the comeback of vinyl we have seen the reappearance of phono jacks), make sure to set the switch to “line.” The same holds true if your connection involves use of any of the optional cables and connectors that are included with the turntable.

The turntable tracks quite nicely from what I have seen, and is worth the low cost. Still, before investing in a USB unit without or without phono connectors you may simply wish to save up for the best “conventional” turntable with an amplifier or receiver that has a phono jack. That way you will have a better chance of scoring many of the audiophile niceties mentioned above, and connection to your computer will be no problem whether you have an 1/8″ familiar audio jack or an adapter that will transform RCA into USB cables.

The software included with the turntable is Audacity a respected freeware program that is able of doing an excellent job but isn’t recognized for being the most user friendly program. Other possibilities are Cool Edit (for PC users); turn Doctor or Sound Studio (Mac users). Once you have transformed a couple of LPs, it is a part of cake except for the possible of allowing the procedure to consume your time and life. (Try to resist the temptation to make up your CDs, complete with jewel cases, printed front and back covers and spines, disc centers, booklets, photos, inserts, etc. Another not inconsiderable expense in time also as money.)

3.0 out of five stars Underwhelming, April 28, 2010
By cubelodyte “The world is my oyster and I am al. (Atlanta, GA) See all my reviews () This review is from: Audio Technica AT PL60USB completely auto Belt Driven Turntable with USB Port (Electronics) only as a turntable, this is a acceptable unit comparable to any other at the $50 to $80 range. The features that should have set it separately (and for which I bought the item) are all woefully disappointing.

1) USB Direct Recording: The true function of my buy was to update my current phonograph configuration to a more convenient way to change my LPs to MP3. When using the USB connection, there’s a dull but constant power cycle hum from the moment USB Codec is selected as the Recording Device. After attempting to avail myself of this feature with many computers in my home I have finished that the USB connection should be considered unusable by the least discriminating among music lovers (Perhaps power filters may be used to separate possible ground loops but then, you could still have to contend with issue number three below).

2) The software: generally in search of audio recording software that could work well on a PC, I was keen to test the claims of Audacity as proclaimed in the included accessory description for this turntable. As it turns out, Audacity is open source freeware. Anybody can get a more recent variant of the software free of charge online.

3) Pre amp: The capability to play this unit directly through a sound system with the boosted “Phono” inputs of older receivers was a big draw. Having held on to an older receiver for the single function of bridging between my turntable and my newer AV receiver, I looked forward to eliminating one big and superfluous part in my rack. Given the tragic failure of the USB connection, I had also projected this to be the viable alternative to converting to MP3 on my laptop. Sadly, this too was a failure. The pre amp in this unit is unable to deal with the low input at the end of any track that fades out. The result is a abrupt cut off followed by a series of unpleasant audio events as the pre amp cuts in and out. These events seem to point to that the db level at the end of the song joint with the surface sound typically experienced between tracks rests squarely at the bottom of the volume range needed for the pre amp to engage. As it turns out, this is the case with USB recording but one may not notice as the aggravating hum covers most of the audio at this volume level.

At this point, my only left over choice is to use the non amplified output and run it through the mic input of my Creative Labs SB1090 USB Sound Blaster X Fi Surround 5.1 Audio System external sound card (a delightful buy from which will be reviewed separately). Of course, I may have done this with my present turntable as could anybody else who bought a comparable unit at a comparable price.

4.0 out of five stars Cool little keyboard!, October 12, 2010
By L. Spain (Seattle, WA) See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) () This review is from: Casio SA 76 44 Key Mini Keyboard, Orange This keyboard fits into my somewhat bigger backpack. Its portability lets me to carry it around and work out melodic and harmonic ideas for the songs I write when I am away from home. The eight note polyphony is really useful for chording.

A problematic issue exists with the Casio SA 75 power adaptor that’s advertised as an optional accessory on the page that features the keyboard. The adaptor is not matched because the jack end does not fit into the 9.5 volt terminal on the back of the keyboard. The manual claims the six batteries obliged to operate the keyboard will last for about six hours, though.

I contacted the seller of the SA 75 adaptor and they told me that the correct adaptor for the SA 76 keyboard will not be available till December 2010.

The tones are clear and reasonably distinctive, possibly somewhat less so in the brass. The beat patterns cover all the basics, and there is more than enough volume control to play with. All in all, after two weeks of using it, I could say that this is a cool little keyboard!

5.0 out of five stars I love my Casio, November 3, 2010
By Edward Cullen “EC” (New york city) See all my reviews This review is from: Casio SA 76 44 Key Mini Keyboard, Orange This little keyboard is great, it is compact so I can take it anywhere I want. The sound (to me anyway) is good, responsive when each key is press. Their are many features also like ten Song Bank,50 Patterns,100 tones, tempo, and great volume control. It has a small LCD so you may be able to see the notes your hitting. The keyboard doesn’t come with batteries or a AC Adapter,(I brought this in my JR Music store in NY and they told me next month or maybe in the remote future you’ll be able to buy one for it. It takes six batteries I do not care for an adapter because I use rechargeable batteries and do not want to be stuck in one place when playing. I am new to pianos and this will be a good beginner one for me or kids may love it also, but an adult can use it if they do not want to carry a big heavy one with them everywhere they go, The back of the keyboard is orange and the front is black so I really like the colors on it and the design. If your new to pianos (like myself) this is a great buy for you or a child, its been three days and already I am playing many of my favorite songs,so get it and play away.

5.0 out of five stars Good purchase, August 30, 2010
By Adeline Anderson “Addy” (Dassel MN) See all my reviews
(REAL NAME) () This review is from: Casio SA 76 44 Key Mini Keyboard, Orange My last keyboard had 61 keys with many more features. But it also cost ten times as much as this one. We had to downsize our motor home and I required to get something smaller. This one is perfect! a characteristic that I like is that you may play eight notes at one time, and they all sound. I use it mainly to play as a piano and 44 keys makes a nice range. There’s one complaint..I haven’t been able to purchase the adaptor for it. It uses six AA batteries, but I want an adaptor. Casio doesn’t have one available now, but I have been in contact with them and hope to get an answer. Otherwise.I give this five stars due to great price and the way it plays. Really like it!
